Congratulations! You’ve made it this far ……… so now the boring but very important bits!!
This is a summary, in bullet points, of our conditions of hire, but upon booking a full disclosure will be made available to you, nothing hidden and nothing unusual. You get the actual Rental Agreement when the vehicle is collected, but it can be made available upon request.
Charges: All charges are in New Zealand Dollars and include GST (Goods & Services Tax). Some administration fees may apply to credit card transactions.
Bookings: Must always be made in advance, a minimum of 30 days prior to hire. A deposit equivalent to 20% of the hire fee is payable at the time of booking.
Minimum Rental: There is not a minimum hire period unless an exception is authorised by us (ActionVaNZ). However, between 15th December and 4th January, a minimum hire period of 10 days applies.
Payment of Hire: Full payment for hire is required 4 weeks before the hire.
Cancellations: If notification of cancellation is received a minimum of 14 days before hire, then we will refund your payment less the 20% deposit. There will be no refund if cancellation is within 14 days of the start of the hire period.
Further payment: A fixed daily payment for insurance and diesel road user charges (SMART PACK) and a security bond is payable by you on collection of the van.
Collection: The vehicle must be collected (and returned) between the hours of 11 am and 4pm, unless by prior arrangement with us. The vehicle must be returned clean with toilet cassette empty and a full tank of diesel.
Drivers Licence: Drivers must be between the ages of 25yrs and 75yrs and hold either a Full UK Drivers Licence or Full International Drivers Licence (in English) valid for the duration of the hire period. Restricted or Probationary Licences are not acceptable.
Insurance: Full cover vehicle insurance is provided but some conditions apply. You must take care of your own travel insurance.
Road Restrictions: A small number of roads are deemed to be too risky for driving by our insurers and accordingly are out of bounds to our vehicles. Details of these can be obtained from us in advance or at the time of hire.
Breakdown: In the event of a breakdown and the unavailability of a replacement vehicle, we will refund the current day and future days of the prepaid hire and Smart Pack charges. No compensation will be paid.
Infringements: The hirer will be responsible for all driving infringements and or traffic charges incurred by any driver of the vehicle during your hire period. We will charge you for these together with any administration costs incurred by us in resolving any such matters. Please note: Third party insurance is not compulsory in New Zealand, the hirer will be responsible to us for any accident if, in the event, the 3rd party is not insured or drives away.
